
Pickleball Background:
Antoaneta is a former tennis player who began competing at just five years old and went on to play in numerous national and international tournaments around the world. Due to recurring injuries, she made the difficult decision to step away from professional tennis at age 20. She discovered pickleball while vacationing in Florida in January 2024 and immediately fell in love with the sport. What began as a new experience quickly turned into a passion, leading her to pursue pickleball competitively.
Career Highlights:
2026 marks Antoaneta’s third year competing in the CNPL. Her growing list of accomplishments includes winning a PPA Challenger title in Women’s Doubles in June 2025, competing in multiple APP and PPA events across the United States in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, and earning a fourth-place finish in Women’s Doubles at the 2025 European Championships in Rome. She has also collected medals on both the APA Ontario Tour and the MRGence Tour in Québec. Antoaneta currently holds a DUPR rating of 5.587 in doubles and 5.041 in singles, and is ranked No. 113 in the world in doubles and No. 136 in singles.
Off the Court:
Originally from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Antoaneta has lived in Laval, Quebec since the age of seven. She is currently fully focused on competing at a high level in pickleball while also coaching part-time. She holds a degree in nursing and plans to transition into the medical aesthetics field, with a focus on injectable treatments.
Fun Facts:
Outside of pickleball, Antoaneta enjoys yoga, Pilates, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and discovering new foods and cuisines.
